ACCelerate Creativity and Innovation Festival 2019

April 5, 2019 - April 7, 2019

A mesh of the North Carolina and Virginia region is shown.

Tools from the Coastal Resilience Center of Excellence – ADCIRC and CERA, an algorithm and mapping tool for projecting storm surge, respectively – will be included as part of an exhibition at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

The CRC tools will be incorporated into a presentation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, “Shallow Waters,” which explores UNC’s contributions to advancing coastal research.

The festival is a celebration of creative exploration and research happening at the nexus of science, engineering, arts and design. The 2019 ACCelerate festival is programmed by Virginia Tech’s Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation.
