Tony Pratt

Tony Pratt is the Administrator of the Shoreline and Waterway Management Section within the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, where he oversees programs related to beach protection and enhancement, beach construction regulation, coastal hazards mitigation, waterway management and flood mitigation.

He was a member of the National Research Council Committee on Beach Nourishment and Protection, the NAS committee on Coastal Engineering Research and Educational Needs and the Heinz Center Panel on Risk, Vulnerability and the True Costs of Coastal Hazards. Pratt served on the Federal Advisory Committee for the “U.S. Climate Change Science Program Synthesis and Assessment Product 4.1, Coastal Sensitivity to Sea Level Rise: A Focus on the Mid-Atlantic Region,” and on the FAC for FEMA’s study titled “Impact of Climate Change and Population Growth on the National Flood Insurance Program.”

He served in elected office in Lewes, a coastal town in DE, four years of which were as Deputy Mayor. Pratt currently serves as the President of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association.
